Program Activities

The Partnership conducts three kinds of activities:

Issue-focused advocacy to develop expert recommendations and change policies and practices in specific areas. This may include identification of problems or opportunities, development of recommended policies and practices, and promotion of these policies and practices to relevant decision-makers.

Ongoing outreach to key organizational audiences, including US policy-makers, legislators, staff of multilateral donor organizations and banks, African leaders, implementing organizations, and private sector leaders.

Ongoing member outreach to inform and educate members, solicit their input, and facilitate member networks and activities.

The Partnership hosts events, publishes reports, and tracks policy related to the most important issues in the field. Presently, the Partnership's focal areas include:

  • Agricultural markets & trade
  • Capacity building for science & technology
  • Infrastructure
  • Integrating relief and development
  • Private investment and public-private partnerships
  • Higher education partnerships
  • Food assistance
