New online review of European Agricultural Development Assistance to Sub-Saharan Africa

This online review of European Agricultural Development Assistance to Sub-Saharan Africa was created by a small team at the Centre for Environmental Policy at Imperial College London under the leadership of Professor Sir Gordon Conway and with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

This review seeks to create an online tool for better understanding European donor support for agricultural development in sub-Saharan Africa. It is an initial attempt to map the activities, political and financial commitments of fourteen different European donors. The content draws on open access material available online, and OECD-DAC data on donor commitments and disbursements in this sector.

New Study on Cotton and WTO Doha Round

 
This paper assesses the likely implications of a trade deal in cotton for both exporting and importing countries. The study estimates the price, production and trade effects of reforming cotton subsidies and tariffs under alternative scenarios, with a primary focus on the WTO Doha Round.
